Oakworth Furniture 15 Year Workmanship Guarantee & Standard Product Guarantee
15 Year Workmanship Guarantee
At The Oak Bed Store, we believe furniture should be made to last. That’s why our bed frames and furniture manufactured by Oakworth Furniture Limited, made from Solid Oak, Solid Walnut, Solid Rubberwood or American Yellow Poplar, are built to stand the test of time and backed by our 15 Year Workmanship Guarantee.
You’ll receive 5 years of free repairs or replacement parts, including any applicable delivery costs, followed by a further 10 years of free repairs or replacement parts, with only the applicable delivery cost payable by you. If a genuine manufacturing defect affects the workmanship or structural integrity of your bed frame or furniture item, we’ll put it right.
How Your Guarantee Works
To keep things completely transparent, our guarantee is split into two clear levels:
-
Years 1 to 5: If an approved claim requires a repair or replacement part, we'll provide it completely free of charge, including any applicable delivery costs.
-
Years 6 to 15: Repairs and replacement parts for approved claims remain completely free of charge. You simply cover any applicable delivery cost, typically £25–£40, depending on the size of the replacement part and your location.
Each claim is assessed individually, and we'll determine whether a repair or replacement is the most appropriate solution based on the nature of the fault.
No registration is required. Your guarantee automatically begins on the day your bed frame or furniture item is delivered.

Our guarantee applies to all eligible solid wood bed frames and furniture items manufactured by Oakworth Furniture Limited, including those made from Solid Oak, Solid Walnut, Solid Rubberwood and American Yellow Poplar.
Please Note: A small selection of our fabric bed frames and other products are manufactured by third-party suppliers and are therefore not covered by our 15 Year Workmanship Guarantee. These products are covered by the manufacturer's standard guarantee. Please refer to the individual product page for full guarantee details.
Repairs & Replacement Parts
Each guarantee claim is assessed individually. Depending on the nature of the fault, we will determine whether the most appropriate solution is to repair the affected component or provide a replacement.
Where a repair is appropriate and reasonably possible, we'll arrange for the affected component to be repaired.
Where a replacement is required, we'll supply the exact replacement part to match your existing bed frame or furniture item where reasonably possible.
If the original part is no longer available because your bed frame, furniture item or component has been discontinued, we'll offer a like-for-like replacement of equivalent quality and value where possible.
As a last resort, if neither a suitable repair nor replacement can reasonably be provided, we may instead offer a pro rata refund, taking into account the age of the product and the period of use. Please see our 15 Year Workmanship Guarantee Terms & Conditions for details of how a pro rata refund is calculated.
Please be aware that solid wood naturally changes in colour and appearance over time. As a result, repaired or replacement components may vary slightly in colour, grain or appearance from your existing bed frame or furniture item.
Please Note: Replacement parts and repair services provided under our 15 Year Workmanship Guarantee are available to addresses in England, Scotland and Wales only.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to register my guarantee?
No. Your guarantee automatically begins on the day your bed frame or furniture item is delivered, so there's no need to register. Simply keep your order confirmation for future reference.
Which bed frames and furniture items are covered?
Our 15 Year Workmanship Guarantee applies to eligible solid wood bed frames and furniture items manufactured by Oakworth Furniture Limited, including those made from Solid Oak, Solid Walnut, Solid Rubberwood and American Yellow Poplar.
A small selection of our fabric bed frames and other products are manufactured by third-party suppliers and are covered by the manufacturer's standard guarantee instead. Please refer to the individual product page for full guarantee details.
Does the guarantee cover my mattress?
No. Mattresses are covered under their own separate guarantee. Please refer to the individual mattress product page for full guarantee details.
Does the guarantee cover the wooden slats?
Yes. Wooden support slats supplied with your bed frame are covered against genuine manufacturing defects. Normal wear and tear, accidental damage or damage caused by incorrect assembly, misuse, neglect or modifications are not covered.
If your slats are damaged for a reason that isn't covered by the guarantee, we'll still do our best to help by arranging replacement slats where available. Depending on the circumstances, there may be a charge for the replacement slats and delivery.
Does the guarantee cover hinges and handles?
Yes. Hinges and handles are covered where they are affected by a genuine manufacturing defect.
Normal wear and tear, cosmetic deterioration, accidental damage, misuse or damage caused by incorrect assembly are not covered.
Does the guarantee cover scratches, dents or marks?
No. Our guarantee covers genuine manufacturing defects affecting the workmanship or structural integrity of your bed frame or furniture item. It does not cover cosmetic damage, accidental damage or normal wear and tear.
Why has my solid wood furniture changed slightly over time?
Solid wood is a natural material, so it's normal for it to respond to changes in temperature and humidity throughout the year. You may notice small changes such as minor expansion, contraction or movement as the timber adapts to its environment. Bed frames may also occasionally develop minor cracks as the timber naturally moves.
Minor natural movement of this kind is normal and does not usually affect the strength or durability of your bed frame or furniture item.
If you're ever unsure whether what you're seeing is a natural characteristic or a genuine manufacturing issue, simply get in touch with our Customer Care team. We'll be happy to take a look and advise.
What if my bed frame or furniture item develops a small crack or split?
As solid wood is a natural material, minor cracks or splits can sometimes develop as the timber naturally responds to changes in its environment. Where these are cosmetic and do not affect the structural integrity, stability or safe use of the product, they are not considered a manufacturing fault.
If a crack or split affects the structural integrity, stability or safe use of your bed frame or furniture item, please contact us and we'll assess it as part of your guarantee claim.
I've moved house. Is my guarantee still valid?
Yes. Moving home does not affect your guarantee, provided you remain the original purchaser.
However, damage caused while dismantling, moving, transporting or reassembling your bed frame or furniture item is not considered a manufacturing defect and is therefore not covered.
What happens if my bed frame or furniture item has been discontinued?
Where possible, we'll first determine whether the affected component can reasonably be repaired.
If a replacement is required, we'll supply the exact replacement component where available. If your bed frame, furniture item or the required component is no longer available, we'll offer a like-for-like replacement of equivalent quality and value where possible.
As a last resort, if neither a suitable repair nor replacement can reasonably be provided, we may instead offer a pro rata refund, taking into account the age of the product and the period of use. Please see our 15 Year Workmanship Guarantee Terms & Conditions for full details of how a pro rata refund is calculated.
If I receive a repair or replacement, does my 15-year guarantee start again?
No. Any repaired or replacement component, or replacement bed frame or furniture item, provided under the guarantee will remain covered until the expiry date of your original 15 Year Workmanship Guarantee.
A repair or replacement does not restart the 15-year guarantee period.
How do I make a claim?
Simply call us on 02393 552 550 or alternatively you can reply to any email you've received from The Oak Bed Store or email us at help@theoakbedstore.co.uk with your order number, details of the issue and clear photographs showing the fault.
We'll assess your claim individually and determine the most appropriate solution, which may involve a repair or replacement depending on the nature of the fault.
