Solid Pine Flat Slats Assembly Instructions
FLAT SLATS ARE SUPPLIED WITH:
Self Tapping Wood Screw x10 pieces (including x2 spare) - packaged separately inside of the Flat Slats Box.
The Side Rails supplied are compatible with both Flat Slats (small pilot holes on each side rail) or Sprung Slats (multiple pairs of pre-drilled holes).
For Flat Slats, please fit the Side Rails with the pilot holes facing upwards, which will enable you to align and secure the flat slats to the side rail support bar.
For 3ft Single Bed Frames
The Flat Slats should be fitted after assembling the Bed Frame (Step 3) in place of Step 4 (instead of installing the Sprung Slats).
For 4ft Small Double to 6ft Super King Size Bed Frames
The Flat Slats should be fitted after assembling the Bed Frame, Centre Bar and Support Legs (Step 4) in place of Step 5 (instead of installing the Sprung Slats)
Step 1:
Carefully place the webbed roll of Flat Slats onto the Support Bar on both Side Rails - the webbing should be on the underside.
Step 2:
Unroll the Flat Slats along the length of the Side Rail Support Bars and align the first pre-drilled hole in the slats with the corresponding pilot hole on the Support Bar, starting at the Headboard end of the bed.
Step 3:
Starting at the Headboard end, fix the Flat Slats to the Support Bar on each side using the Self Tapping Wood Screws supplied. Tighten by hand using a screwdriver.
Step 4:
Repeat Step 3 at the Footboard end - it may be necessary to pull the webbing tight to align the pre-drilled and pilot holes correctly.
Step 5:
Finally, repeat Step 3 at the middle of the Side Rails. Please Note: After attaching one side of a Flat Slat to the first Support Bar, it may be necessary to apply moderate force to the second Side Rail, while fitting the second screw, to ensure proper alignment.
